Don't Target Them

Everything is fair in love and war. True. But why children ? What are their faults ? More than 100 children have already lost their lives in Gaza Strip due to Israel's continuous attack in the region. There goes without saying, the figure will increase in coming days. Still, Israel authorities have shown no remorse, as such their only job is to see blood. It may be human being or animals. They just don't care. Hamas fired a few rockets into their territory and in retaliation, Israel launched a full-fledged attack on the Gaza Strip. And our world leaders couldn't do anything about it, except a few useless statements about how it is a humanitarian crisis and that Israel should withdraw its troops. How many times have we heard such kind of statements? Absurd. Ineffective. Immaterial. Even as I'm writing this, thousands are dying there. The above images show that how barbaric Israeli soldiers are.

Heart breaking photos..
I was tearing when I saw the reports on tv, really breaks my heart.
absolutely right deepak..it's frustrating in this part of the region to c pictures of innocent palestinian children being slaughered in the name of war in all the newspapers..why children? right question...
Hmm, I dont have words to express my sadness.
Wish the world becomes a better place to live in.
sometimes this question really looms large..."Where the hell are we living!?!?"
this is really the brutest of anything,,,,
children!?!?
wat a shame!?!?
This is just absurd..But what all absurdities are we ourselves a part of...just for the sake of existence in a world that's absolutely absurd...
Sad, really sad..
Touching post, Deepak

Heinous!
Nothing is fair in war...
Deepak, just a word to Plamena...
Nothing is fair in war, agreed cent percent..
But when ending a war or settling a love: one has to end up saying:
"All is fair in love and war" -- else the war goes on...
and War is often fought for love...not for another but for one's own pride...
soldiers in war and innocent ones that fall prey often feel devastated...
BUT then the proverb has to be applied...its some sort of a compromise for a ceasefire...Not a Judgement :)
just wanted to exchange my thoughts..
thank you Deepak; hope you don't mind your space being used for an exchnage of idea :)

Also Plamena,
when I said one's own pride --
it applies to a collective set as we see in the religious/terrorist/ regional war groups fighting for an 'ideal' that they hold close to themselves...

The Nazis of our time. That's pretty much how I see them. If they could they'd do to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to them and they wouldn't think twice about it.
We've been collecting money for ambulances and medical personal and have gotten a lot of critiques for it. There are those who think that Israel is acting in self defense. How can it possibly be self defense when they started it?
If I move into your house and call it mine is it really self defense if I hit you when you try to take it back?
As for civilians... as the weapons get "better", "smarter" and "safer" they also cause more and more civilian deaths.
I'd like to see leader against leader in the boxing ring fighting it off man to man or woman. If they want fights and war then they should be willing to make the sacrifice and save the innocent citizens and civilians.
Got some numbers for you:
In World War 1 about 9.7 million military died and 6.8 million civilians. That's more military than civilian causalities.
In World War 2 about 25.2 million military died and 41.7 million civilians. That's almost twice as many civilians causalities.
Today we have even "better" and "smarter" weapons of course and in Iraq about 34500 military has been killed and 668000 civilians. That's about 19 times as many civilian causalities.
kadri..great job..getting those figures..thanks..it's informative though very sad..
This is why I firmly believe that war is never the answer. What does it solve? The lack of empathy, intolerance and judgments in this world break my heart. We're all human beings. I pray daily for the people living with war.
"and War is often fought for love...not for another but for one's own pride..."
This is so true, Devika! Unfortunately sometimes love can be hurtful in so many ways.
What is US doing..n whr the hell is UN..now let me put in straight without any sugar-coating...those killed r Muslims so Y d hell sud nebody bother..What is Israeli fighting for..its not thr land..i wud request everyone to go back in history n u will find that its not Jews land at all..n if they r thinking they will get nething out of this..they r wrong..n yes they will get suicide bombing in Jerusalem...hotel attacks in Tel Aviv..bus bombing in other Israeli areas..it will keep on going..Jews will never get their land...n dats for sure..am sorry if am huritn nebody..but am just putting it without any diplomacy..bluntyl..but its d fact..let Israeli do whatever they want to..they will not succeed in their ill-motives...
Plamena, you talk as though you never knew it :))
& Love hurts? -- i didn't know that...or perhaps I forgot about it, totally...
Never had anyone loving for years now :))

Unfortuntely, war knows no boundaries and the innocent are most often its casualties!
its terrible and very unfair..why children?why anyone ?
yes sir, waiting to c yr next post...
sir sir, deepak sir, where r u?
These countries are totally SICK - Religion is an excuse for territory and power. The will be no end to this unitl they have killed everyone. What future is there for the kids who will be brought up on the hate for each country. A terrible thing to say, but perhaps the children are better off dead than growing up being taught how to kill others.
deepakbhai, this is unfair yaar..pl dont keep away from humanobserver for yr other blogs..pleasseeee..i like this blog very much and also have sentimental attachmt as humanobserver's a great source of encouragement for smalltime bloggers like us...
So true!! Those who make war fiercely contribute to destruction of our future: children!
Heartbreaking...and life is truly unfair where the innocence have to pay.
