Value Of Hindi Language
People who speak in Hindi are often considered as second-class citizens. If we speak in Hindi in five star hotels or in high-profile places, than people will see you in such a way that it is a crime to speak in Hindi. For their kind information, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Chinese President Hu Jintao have very little knowledge in English and always try to communicate with their respective national language. It seems that these high profile leaders understand the value and importance of national language better than us. So next time when you go to Le Meridian and ask a question to receptionist in Hindi, than do not feel ashamed. You must proud of yourself that you have guts to speak in Hindi.

..but on the other side these leaders have people who can do their work in English so they dont feel crippled..But in today's world..a common man like u n me would definitely feel numb without english..this is a harsh fact and we sud respect d change..vid due regards to hindi..i wud say that it is our government which has totally neglected our national language..so yhe shift in loyalties is bound to happen...and well I believe that Indians are rising today because of their supoerb brain and brilliant knowledge of english..so all in all english compliments over supremacy of brain and i hope that we wud rule the world one day and then we wud impose hindi on others..like Mughals did Urdu on us or British did English on us..hope u undtand the logic..:)
I agree. I will write in English in the comment coz my browser does not support hindi text. These days I am reading a hindi novel. and most of the people who see me carrying a hindi book are astonished. i cannot relate to their reactions since i am an indian, proud of the fact that i understand hindi and marathi... y i get such bewildered reactions is beyond me.

hmm..mudda to sahi me gambheer hai vats..ppl are indeed ashamed of being found in the company of hindi..par log nadaan hain shayad..jo dinkar, bachchan, nirala, muktibodh, mahadevi verma aadi jaise diggajon ke lekhan ki shakti se parichit nahi hain, wo bhasha ki shakti ka sahi moolyankan shayad nahi kar paate..ummeed hai ki ek din aega jab bharatiya saundarya ki tarah bharat ki bhasha ka bhi duniya loha maanegi..
I truly agree with u that today those who speak Hindi are treated as second-rate citizens. One should not be ashamed of his/her mother tongue. Rather, one should feel proud of one’s mother tongue. Why only Hindi? There have been instances where Hindi speaking guys were not given due attention and are considered inferior to those affecting starry tantrums, hi-fi- English or Hinglish for that matter. English is a universal language, no doubt, its ur passport to the outside world, bt one shud nt be addicted to it. One more thing, the worst opposition to English language comes from those who have no command over it at all. So in my opinion if one has a good command over both Hindi and English, he will never come across any embarrassment and then his voice will be heard.
