Bomber At 13 !
What did you do at the age of 13 ? I guess studying, reading, playing with friends etc. etc. However, a 13-year-old boy in Afghanistan did an unimaginable thing. He became a suicide bomber and killed three British soldiers in Helmand province. According to reports, the men were approached by this suicide bomber and after few moments a bomb hidden under papers in the wheelbarrow was detonated. It is widely believed that the bomb was detonated by a watching member of the Taliban using a remote-control device. This incident propelled me to think why this boy turned out be a suicide bomber at a tender age? Is it poverty or is it lack of education ?

Also lack of education but they are mostly so drilled for hatred that they don't care about life. It's so sad !

I pray this day comes soon but I really doubt it ever will. Unfortunately we live in a reality where everything is slowly but surely going out of control
How horrible, right? Well, this is the world and we all don't want to believe. Poor kid!
No matter what cred colour or religion this can't be right. No God is worthy of being a God is these actions are preached. It just shows how wholly evil some groups are who think they have the 'right' to kill others and their own people to get their way. This is not the way to live and it will carry on as lure of power and money overides any form of society with a peaceful equilibrium.
such a pitiful sight! what is our world turning to? with all the politics around us the children are the ones suffering...
In my eyes it's lack of proper education. Many of them do get education but it's the brainwashing kind that doesn't teach them to think for themselves.
Unfortunately poor education is not something that is limited to one group of people in one part of the world, this happens everywhere. Within all societies there are conservative narrow minded people that don't want people to have free will and they are only a small step away from creating suicide bombers, terrorists and so on.
They say that no wars has been started in the name of liberalism. It's always the conservative people that try to force people to think like them that starts it all.
Hi Deepak,
a very striking post...
to me, terrorism starts with marginalisation..it need not be about religious, political or whatever extremism
poverty -- if thats seen the cause: we see the most poor of them becoming bonded labour, servants...subjecting themselves to the most heinous of exploitation with no degree of condemnation..
education -- if thats seen the cause: some of the most highly educated and skilled engineers and the like top the terrorist list today...
Marginalisation in a society, family, group..could make one a rebel first and a terrorist later...thats what i feel.
and the solution is only inclusion..not exclusion or destroyal..those startegies an only add to terrorism..
those are my thoughts...
one could agree or disagree...
thanks again for the post, Deepak
i am literally drained to post anything this week...

Or is it misguided influence by elders? How sad. For him and for the British of course.
so sad... another life wasted for the fulfilment of an ideology that is warped ..
poverty and lack of education both..this incidents have become so common in this part of the world that i am lack of idea to say something abt it..what can be done...? i dont want to listen to any of the usual answers about re-reading the koran or peace harmony love kind of answers anymore....we have to come up with a solution soon..which will end the cycle of violence
what ever the reason hell is reserved for those who kill other innocent people..
It has nothing to do with education..u remember the bombers of WTC or d London metro..they were all highly educated..it has everything to do with the policies imposed by the Americans on different countries leading to widespread hatred among people towards them..i condemn this incident very badly but its not one-sided..look what the alliance forces have done in Afghanistan..killed hundreds of innocent Afghanis in the name of finding Osama..n yet they failed..this is bound to happen unless the powerful nations stop senseless killing of innocent individuals..
its sad that their lives are so futile and wasted ..
This a truly heartbreaking image of the very sad times we all live in. I think there are many contributing factors and unfortunatley I see an escaltion of this time of image rahter than a decrease. Extremely powerful post.
Such a powerful image. Lack of education, indoctrination, hate....
A combination of both, I'd say. Plus, the adventurous spirit of the youth can lead them down the road of danger and death. This saddens me deeply and I feel for his family, the soldiers, the people of the world. A terrible act.
thanks for comment boss..yes mickey was great in the film indeed..
13! Really shocking!
How heartless a person can be to have used this innocent boy as a pawn!
what a tragedy.
Gosh! Thats a very disturbing image! Very powerful write-up too!
Perhaps it is a demented force from within combined with lack of education and poverty that drives people to take extreme steps!
Sad! Terribly Sad!
"It is widely believed that the bomb was denoted by a watching member of the Taliban using a remote-control device."
This chills me to the bone.
How can someone THAT IS NOT GOING TO DIE activate a bomb and watch a 13 years old child turn into pieces?!?!?! There are not enough words to adjectivate such a thing!
ITS VERY SAD TO READ THINGS LYK DT...
A sad and sickening tragedy..
How pathetic! In many such cases, suicide bombers will not even be aware that they are going to be sacrificed ... for some so-called cause they do not even understand.
Hello! There's an award waiting for you in my blog. Ciao!
came for a new one, Deepak..
see later

I wonder whether its easy to pinpoint a specific reasons... but your notes shakes us somehwere.. what were we doing at 13?
Its rib-chilling.. Just cnt imagine this!
Poverty, misled youth and religious fervor make a volatile cocktail!
