Let Them Bloom !

I never wanted to write an article on homosexuality, but the historic gay parade in Delhi, India propelled me to express my thoughts through my blog. The parade, where fashion celebrity like Manish Arora joined, was held beyond any one's imagination. At the same time, such kind of parades were also orgainsed across the world including one in Sofia, Bulgaria. But unlike Bulgaria, Delhi parade did not witness any kind of violence. But the only question that remains to be answered is whether there be a ban on gay, lesbian, bisexuals and transgender in our country? It is of my opinion that there should not be any kind of ban on them, despite the fact that homosexual relations are legally considered as a crime in India under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code.

In a democratic country like India everybody has the right to express their liberty and it is our duty to give the power of liberty and freedom to everyone. In many countries, people have actually realized that there is a place for homosexuality in the society, though many governments still oppose gay marriages. However, in our country it is difficult to convince the people that gay people are not from Mars. Believe it or not, they were in the early 20th century, and now they are everywhere in the world. Feel free to put any comments if you strongly feel towards the issue.

I personally do not believe in any sort of discrimination.... be it for caste, creed, color, sex or sexual preferences.... its the matter more of choice than right and i believe everyone has a definite right to exercise their choice as long as it does not harm the larger good. Since we do not live in an animal kingdom but a so called civilized society it becomes necessary and sometimes painful to follow the traditional, overbearing norms... therefore the need to raise your voice and highlight your choice becomes even more necessary.
i would not say that the presence of gays or lesbians do not raise my eyebrows, they do but its not because there is any kind of bias towards them but plain curiosity at various levels...
i feel very proud that atleast a section of urban india has accepted them, and if not accepted them then atleast given them the space to breathe freely.... and yes i also appreciate that despite not choosing to write about them.. u did... its a great deal to be acknowledged and you just acknowledged thousands of people in your blog...kudos to u and them....

Gay..D word itself say that they are happy..sexuality is by and large and individual's choice...I strongly believe that every human has d right to follow his/her sense of sexuality...now..the problem is..religion, old customs, bloody society..but then again...when I say sexual behaviour is individual's choice..I mean the person should not care about all these norms and sud follow his/her heart..and these norms should also not impose their themselves on them...My GOD...they r also human..let them live in peace..as far as they r not harming anyone...
