He is just a few ounces and is a top contender for the title of being the smallest dog on the planet. He is Tom Thumb. This tiny puppy belongs to owners Susan and Archie Thomson of England. Now they are taking care of this cute puppy like their children. Tom was born just three weeks ago. The owners were delighted to see Tom, his brothers and sister, who were born at the family's West Dunbartonshire home.

He completed the climb in only 20 minutes. Sounds amazing. Robert has also climbed the Sears Tower in Chicago, Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Eiffel Tower in Paris and Empire State Building in New York City.

Father at the age of 13 ! British newspaper The Sun has claimed that a 13-year-old British boy has become a father of his 15-year-old girlfriend. Alfie Patton became a father when his girlfriend Chantelle Steadman delivered to a baby girl Maisie Roxanne recently. According to The Sun, baby-faced Alfie impregnated Chantelle when he was just 12. Now, the boy has promised to be a good dad. "I didn't think about how we would afford it. I don't really get pocket money. My dad sometimes gives me 10 pounds (21 U. S. dollars)," said Alfie, who resides in Eastbourne, south England. "When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble ... I didn't know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it," he added. What an amazing world ! Such strange incidents happen and will continue to happen in future.

During a meeting with a number of delegates belonging to the Sarhad Chambers of Commerce and Industry from the Frontier province, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari allegedly said that "journalists are the biggest terrorists." Zardari directly blamed the media for portraying the country in a negative way in respect to the deteriorating law and order situation in Pakistan. Soon after his statement, Information Minister Sherry Rehman denied it. However, The News, Pakistan's largest-circulated English daily, claimed that Zardari indeed insulted journalists, by describing them as the biggest terrorists. The Frontier businessmen said that Zardari told them at the meeting that the journalists were the biggest terrorists. No one can expect such irresponsible statements from the Head of the State. How can he blame journalists for the country's situation ? He must apologise to journalism fraternity of Pakistan.

Rourke appeared in "Angel Heart," a movie, which was highly praised by critics as well as moviegoers for his intense acting. The movie was nominated for a number of awards. However, at the end of the ‘80s he made some bad career decisions. He embraced drugs and alcohol. Mickey, however, decided to play small roles in movies such as "The Rainmaker", "Buffalo '66", "Animal Factory", "The Pledge" and "Get Carter" in the 1990s. And how can one forget his ferocious as well as stylish looks as the villain in Enrique Iglesias's music video for "Hero" which also featured Jennifer Love Hewitt ? 2005 was significant for the actor. Mickey's stunning comeback in "Sin City" stunned the Hollywood. He received awards from the Chicago Film Critics Association, the IFTA and the Online Film Critics Society, as well as 'Man of the Year' from Total Film magazine that year. After receiving the Gloden Globe award, Mickey said, "Sometimes when you're alone all you got is your dog." Earlier, he confessed that canines saved him from destroying his life. Everything is fair in love and war. True. But why children ? What are their faults ? More than 100 children have already lost their lives in Gaza Strip due to Israel's continuous attack in the region. There goes without saying, the figure will increase in coming days. Still, Israel authorities have shown no remorse, as such their only job is to see blood. It may be human being or animals. They just don't care. Hamas fired a few rockets into their territory and in retaliation, Israel launched a full-fledged attack on the Gaza Strip. And our world leaders couldn't do anything about it, except a few useless statements about how it is a humanitarian crisis and that Israel should withdraw its troops. How many times have we heard such kind of statements? Absurd. Ineffective. Immaterial. Even as I'm writing this, thousands are dying there. The above images show that how barbaric Israeli soldiers are.

It was not shocking news. It happens in some parts of the world. But, a verdict by a court in Saudi Arabia was shocking. The court turned down a plea to divorce an 8 yea-old girl married off by her father to a man, who is 58. The court argued that the case should wait until the girl reaches puberty. In August, the girl's divorced mother filed the divorce plea with a court at Unayzah, near Riyadh. Lawyer Abdullar Jtili pointed out that the judge rejected the plea saying that the girl did not have the right to file such a case. The father had agreed to marry off his daughter for an advance dowry of GBP 5,000 due to certain financial problems.

What did you do at the age of 13 ? I guess studying, reading, playing with friends etc. etc. However, a 13-year-old boy in Afghanistan did an unimaginable thing. He became a suicide bomber and killed three British soldiers in Helmand province. According to reports, the men were approached by this suicide bomber and after few moments a bomb hidden under papers in the wheelbarrow was detonated. It is widely believed that the bomb was detonated by a watching member of the Taliban using a remote-control device. This incident propelled me to think why this boy turned out be a suicide bomber at a tender age? Is it poverty or is it lack of education ?

Thomas Beatie. Everybody knows him as 'the pregnant man' of the world. Recently he and his wife and five-month baby spoke to media together for the first time. Beatie stated that they are expecting their second child in June and the sperm came from the same donor. "I lived my life as a woman at that point. Legally, I was female. But inside I still felt male. So the way other people perceived us, they saw us as a lesbian couple," the 34-year-old man explained. However, he acknowledged that they have legal problems with their first baby's birth certificate. He also describes his first delivery as life-changing experience. According to England's Telegraph newspaper, a nine-year-old Japanese schoolboy, who learnt driving from playing various video games, used his skills to steal the family car. The Japanese boy had keen interest in visiting his grandmother. He found the car, which was parked with the keys in the ignition, in front of his home. However, soon after the boy set off on the 7.5 mile journey he became lost. He pulled into a convenience store car park in a bid to ask staff for directions after 1.8 miles. After seeing the car without a driver in the city of Ogaki, people informed police immediately. "I learned from playing video games at arcades and watching my father drive. I'm sorry. I just wanted to go to my grandmother's house," the boy told police. Does he need an award or a lesson ?

The world is changing, but not Burma and its ruthless rulers. Nay Phone Latt, the country's well-known BLOGGER, has been sentenced to 20 years in jail. The main reason behind this punishment was that Latt posted a cartoon of the military leader Than Shwe on his blog. Was it really a crime ?

According to his mother Aye Than, Latt's colleague July Kyaw was also sentenced to two years imprisonment. According to Than, she was not allowed to attend the trial, while Latt was not represented by his defence lawyer, Aung Thein. Latt is a popular blogger in his country, where you can hardly find anyone to express his/her opinions. I was surprised to read this. Women's hands are dirtier than men's. A study conducted by researchers with the University of Colorado claimed this. Women have a huge range of bacteria on the palms of their hands than men, the study found.

According to scientists at the University, a hand has 150 forms of bacteria but women generally had a greater number. The study found over 4,700 various kinds of bacteria on 102 hands. However only five species were shared among the participants. The recent study also killed the eternal notion that men don’t care about cleanliness.

It is all about technology. A total of 20 test-tube babies were born in a single day at the Sudha Test Tube Centre, Erode, Tamil Nadu India, which was a record in the country. A total of 12 women became proud mother of these babies, 16 of them twins. The babies were delivered through Cesarean section. The women were in the last stages of pregnancy. Doctors at the centre said that the babies weighed between 2.2 and 3.5 kg and their mothers were all in good conditions. Doctors pointed out that the mothers suffered lack of eggs, and ovarian failure or defective fallopian tubes. Through intra cytoplasmic sperm injection technique, all the eggs were fertilised.

Susanne Klatten, who is considered the richest woman of Germany, recently hit the headlines due to her own faults. Klatten, an heiress to carmaker BMW's fortune, was blackmailed for millions of Euro by a Swiss lover, who threatened to release their secretly filmed sex videos. The Swiss gigolo Helg Sgarbis had started an affair with the German lady in 2006. Klatten, who owns a 50% stake of chemical firm Altana and 12.5% stake in BMW, has already paid EUR 7.5 million to Sgarbis last year. According to media reports, this gigolo had already spent that amount on Egyptian real estate and exotic cars, including a Rolls-Royce Silver. However, he still demanded 40 million more form this lady, who had approached Munich prosecutors over the matter, saying that she was a victim of fraud and blackmail. Following her complaint, Sgarbi and his accomplice, Ernano Barretta of Italy were arrested, thanks to a joint Italian-German police operation. A 73-year old lady has set a new and unique record in the UK. According to Yorkshireeveningpost, Barbara Dyson, a surgeon from Methley, Leeds, has become the oldest woman in the country to secure a karate black belt after promising her dying husband that she would fight until she won the belt, which is considered as the sport's highest accolade. Dyson won this belt after 10 years of hard training. Now, she has become a master in punching, blocking and kicking. A few days ago, the great-grandmother, who also has three grandchildren, accidentally chopped a friend's hand after she mistook her for a robber.

At this age, I must say I will only play with my grandchildren and puppies. What else, lying on bed and listening to old music. Forget about belt, I wouldn't even be able to do jogging.

Now congratulate that lady for her incredible achievement.

They say that no age bar can limit one from getting higher education. According to Croatian Times, a Croatian woman living in Italy has obtained a degree in philosophy, at the age of 85. Mejra Moise, who was born in on the Adriatic Island of Cres received her first degree in literature 62 years ago. Congratulations! Unfortunately I did not find a single photograph of Moise. I wish her all the very best for more higher education.

Many strange incidents happen around the world, beyond our imagination. Some are Bizarre, some are hilarious. Some are sad and some are jovial. Here is a story that really shocked me. Roger Goswell, a well-known property developer in Chichester, England killed his wife because she did not tell him that she was not a virgin when they married. Their 40yrs of marriage ended with a tragedy. According to an inquest, Goswell, who suffered from mental illness, killed his wife with a kitchen knife on December 23 last year and later crashed his Smart car into a tree near their home in West Sussex. The property developer later died at Worthing Hospital. What a man and what a world! I still can't believe it that after 40yrs of marriage a man can do such a heinous crime.

Malalai Kakar, the most high-profile woman police officer in Afghanistan, paid a heavy price for her indomitable courage and spirit. Militants, who were waiting outside the home of Kakar, pumped bullet after bullet into her body, killing her on the spot. Kakar, a mother of six, was well known to everyone for her courage in Kandahar - one of Afghanistan's most conservative provinces. The lady, the most senior policewoman in the province, had been appointed chief of a team of about 10 women police officers.

Kakar, who did her best to stop crimes against women and children, had received a number of death threats. After killing her, the extremist Taliban movement claimed responsibility and expressed delighted at eliminating her. But they forgot one thing that they managed to kill only her body, not her bravery, not her legacy. I pray to God to produce thousands of Kakars in Afghanistan. May her soul rest on peace!

Not Heath Ledger, Not Christian Bale. Neither Michael Caine nor Morgan Freeman. My vote goes to simply The Dark Night. I am not a huge fan of fantasy or sci-fi cinema. That's why I never watched a single movie of this genre, but this time I went to theatre to watch The Dark Night. And I was amazed to see the powerful performance by Ledger and Bale. And it is difficult to say who is the best. As a villain, Ledger certainly deserves an Oscar and as a hero, Bale's performance was up to the mark. But the question is what forced me to hit the theatre? Is it friends' recommendation or critics' overwhelming positive response or is it a desire to see Ledger for the last time on the screen? I confess that all these factors influenced me to see the movie.

But what is its uniqueness? Many things. One most important thing is sacrifice. Amidst heavy corrupted system, there are certain people who don't want to change their principles. And we should admire these people. We believe that the sole purpose of cinema is to get pure entertainment, but I don't agree with that. There is gruesome violence, but peace was there in a hidden format. And just you have to feel it. Villain was there to destroy everything, but hero was there to save everything. A must watch for not only batman fans but for those who want to appreciate movies with dark theme.

Why I Always Dream About "The Dreamers" ?

Some consider it is a soft-porn flick, while others feel it is a pure erotic, but for me it is a plain movie. It is a movie about teenage romance, passion, obsession, innocence and pure love. I don't know those who have seen this British/French drama film directed by Bernardo Bertolucci will agree with me or not. Many feel that this movie could have been made better. Even I agree, but perhaps Bertolucci wanted to make this movie in his own way, ignoring the main theme of the movie '1968 student rebellions'. The Academy Award winning film director, who always emphasised two main themes in his movies - politics and women - admitted during an interview with BBC that the film has everything - cinema, eroticism, politics and rock 'n' roll. Certainly, 'The Dreamers' is not a masterpiece of Bertolucci, but for me it is a modern classic. According to many critics, the end results are disappointing. Why? Perhaps the director knows it better than us. The movie is certainly not for everyone. It is for those who understand Bertolucci's passion for cinema. When I recommended this movie to some of my friends, the response was somehow negative. They claimed that Bertolucci failed to explain the climax and concentrated heavily on the extreme intimacy between the three main characters in the movie. The New Yorker said it, " Pure Bertiloci", while The Guardian described it - "Sends Shivers Of Erotic Frission Of Up The Spine," whereas The Evening Standard said," A Swooning Love Letter To Paris, To Cinema And To Love". According to The Daily Telegraph - "A Masterpiece With Controversy Stamped All Over It." And I said - The Dreamers Is Not To Be Missed.

I never wanted to write an article on homosexuality, but the historic gay parade in Delhi, India propelled me to express my thoughts through my blog. The parade, where fashion celebrity like Manish Arora joined, was held beyond any one's imagination. At the same time, such kind of parades were also orgainsed across the world including one in Sofia, Bulgaria. But unlike Bulgaria, Delhi parade did not witness any kind of violence. But the only question that remains to be answered is whether there be a ban on gay, lesbian, bisexuals and transgender in our country? It is of my opinion that there should not be any kind of ban on them, despite the fact that homosexual relations are legally considered as a crime in India under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code.

In a democratic country like India everybody has the right to express their liberty and it is our duty to give the power of liberty and freedom to everyone. In many countries, people have actually realized that there is a place for homosexuality in the society, though many governments still oppose gay marriages. However, in our country it is difficult to convince the people that gay people are not from Mars. Believe it or not, they were in the early 20th century, and now they are everywhere in the world. Feel free to put any comments if you strongly feel towards the issue.

Do Movie Critics Deserve Criticism?

They say it is easy to become a critic, but difficult to become a director. Judging a film is not bad, but the way the critics throw their opinions, had forced me to write something on the topic. There are two kinds of criticism - Constructive criticism and destructive criticism. However, it seems that Indian movie critics prefer the latter one mostly, following in the footsteps of western movie critics. People can argue that in a democratic country every one has to accept criticism. I agree. But, do we ever contemplate that the criticism could spoil the business of an entire movie? Producers invest whopping amount of money in making a movie, but these critics destroy the fate of a movie by giving poor ratings. Now, what if a critic makes a movie? Take the instance of Khalid Mohammed - widely regarded as one of the finest movie critics of India. He directed four movies - Silsiilay (2005). Tehzeeb (2003), Tareekh (2003) and Fiza (2000). All these four movies bombed at the box office and than Mohammed saab disappeared from movie making and preferred to continue his career as a journalist. There is absolutely no problem if a movie journo tries his hand in movie making, but he must have to face the criticism, the way he has been criticizing other movies. I strongly believe that many journalists from electronic media contribute a lot in giving negative remarks (by taking sound bytes of few people) as soon as a movie hits theatres, without possessing sufficient knowledge. Thus, the audience blindly follows their verdicts and avoids hitting the theatres. So who suffers? Everyone including actors, producers and director. It is often said that the fate of cinema in Hollywood is sealed in the hands of critics, who are mostly fastidious. Are our critics following in their footsteps? Perhaps the time has come to curb the hands of these critics, who in the name of freedom of expression are killing the fate of a movie with their opinions.

In Delhi, I call all kind of four wheelers (especially cars) as vampires and blue line buses as demons. Sounds strange, but true. But I will not write about demons because much has been written about them. I will write only about vampires. Just watch them closely and you will know whether I am right. They (Drivers) don't drive; they simply fly like birds, without realising that roads are not only meant for them but for also pedestrians. And who are the drivers? The so-called educated. As such, they are the only one in hurry to reach at their homes or to meet their deadlines. They don't look how others are riding on road. And what about honking? Hey god, save us from them! If you try to persuade them, they will scold you in typical Delhi languages. So is there any solution to the problem? Only god knows! Like others, I will not blame CM Shila Dixit. Now I want to divert this topic to something else. I see everyday small streams. Do you? If you want to see them, simple go to the so-called posh areas such as Greater Kailash, Vasant Vihar, Vsanat Kunj, Lodhi Estate etc..... And there you will find a number of streams. Car drivers wash their vehicles in such a way that Delhi is situated close to an ocean. Water, water, water and than a small stream. Is this the way to clean the vehicles? It is well known to everyone that water problem in the capital is increasing. But who cares? One day I asked a driver about misuse of water and he admitted about it. But he explained that it was his duty, otherwise he might lose his job. Oooofffff…..
